Bertus is the digiWords Marketing Executive. He graduated with a Law degree, practiced as a lawyer, but opted to pursue a career in the mobile technology sector. With over 8 years of experience in the mobile sector he successfully established Smartsurv Wireless which was acquired by the Louis Group International. Bertus also founded ChristianMobile in 2005 and CellBook in 2007 and pioneered the delivery of the first book in the world delivered via Over The Air Installation to a mobile phone . Bertus is a digital consultant in the Book Publishing Industry and specialises in marketing methodologies within Social Network Communities.

He obtained a Hons B.Com (Cum laude) in Computer Science, he is a professional software developer with 11+ years professional experience in Java™. He has extensive knowledge of the Eclipse Rich Client Platform, Java Swing (JFC) and AWT in J2EE and related technologies (JSP, Servlets, JPA, EJB, XML, Jboss, Web-services, etc.), MySQL and in Eclipse Graphical Editing Framework and graphing APIs. He worked on the design and implementation of various products for companies like Siemens AG (Germany), Spescom Datavoice (South Africa), Maximum Solutions (South Africa), VASTech (South Africa), Sun Chemical Corporation (USA). Herman also presents The Java Specialists Courses (Standard Java, J2EE and Design Patterns) to various companies and for Sun Microsystems at Torque-IT, South Africa.
